Spiritual Renewal

                                        What is Spiritual Renewal There are many forms of spiritual renewal. Many peolpe practice small daily rituals, such as remaining quiet or nspending time alone. Where can one start in the search for spiritual renewal? Start with the realization that spiritual renewal comes from God. Don’t seek the experience of spiritual renewal, but seek the one who renews your spirit. When people came to Jesus to have their needs met, very often He redirected their thinking. He taught them to lift their eyes from their own daily necessities and seek God first. He told them, “ He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern .” (Matthew 6:33). Unit 6. Spiritual Renewal

The term Spiritual Renewal has to do with things that a person does in order to get closer to God such as,fasting, praying and going on a pilgrimage. The unit describes the monastic life in Thailand,Greece and Spain,according to a research made by journalist Wiliam Claassen. The grammar about Non − count and count nouns ,is another important aspect of it.The count nouns are those that can be counted and made plural,like  monasteries ,in contrast non − count nouns can be consider as a mass and cannot be made plural for example,   violence . With the nouns we can use expressions called quantifiers , which states its amount :     A  great deal of water,a bunch of flowers.             Sentences 1. Feng Shui: Ancient Wisdom Travel West

What is Feng Shui ? Is the ancient Chinese art practice of arranging the environment in order to achieve harmony in the space. We discussed a vocabulary Some words that called my attention are: 1_Frowned upon is mean that you don't believe something, you don't accept. 2_Hard bitten is someone with a lot of experiences in something. The Tipping Point                                                   In this unit we talked about that the Tipping Point is a important moment in our life, for example when I get merri, when Balaguer diet or when I finally graduated from University.                                                    The teacher said that other Tipping Point is the Caup Detat. This unit contains the grammar, Abverd Clauses Result with so....that and such....that, the example with this it  is. Atilano spoke so quickly that I couldn't understand her. This is such a good CD that I want to hear ir.

Unit 5.Feng Shui:Ancient Wisdom Travels West

In this unit we learned about Feng Shui , an ancient Chinese art,that uses energy  forces to harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment to create good luck. T he term F eng Shui   literally translates as "wind-water" in English.The origin of Feng Shui dates from over 3000 years ago. A nother topic that was discuss in the unit was the use of Spoken discourse conectors that join ideas within and between sentences in other to make them understandable for the reader or listener.They are used to express the meanin g of contrast , addition and result. Examples :   - I went to visit my aunt last week,however she was not there, because she had a meeting. - Maria lost the bus today and on top of that she got wet when she was walking back home. - Several people lost their houses as a result of the flooding.
The Bold and the Bashful.                                     This unit is very interesting because is about shyer people the way they are according of Dr. Zimbado shyness is undesirable,  and with law self-esteem.          We worked with vocabulary like, Phobia is very strong fear, Extroverted is someone sociable, and Reticent is unwilling to talk.
Honesty Is the Best Policy.                                   In this unit we talked about honesty, we discussed how honesty can be. This unit explain that trying has long been a part of everyday life. The teacher said the meaning of many words like Mislead, Pervasive, Finely home and so on. Example: The Internet is Pervasive.

The Tipping Point

Well, I already talked about this unit , but I forgot to write  about the grammar that the professor explained us. What I want to let you know is Adverb clauses of result with  so... that and such.... that present the result of a situation that is start in the first clause. Example: my brother worked so hard that he passed the test. The water is so good that I want more. My professor explain such a very good that we learn quickly. The boy asked such  very foolish question that everybody laughed at him.
The internet and other addictions The first unit deals with the internet and other addictions. In this unit we see a student from the University of Maryland who uses the Internet for more than eight hours each day, or 60 hours a week. He wants to know if he is an internet addict, he always wants to be online by downloading music, googling, blogging, checking faceboom, etc ... I was researching on the internet and here I have some definitions and causes of Internet addiction and who are the most vulnerable. unit 4.Tipping Point

According to Cmbridge Dictionary, Tipping Point refers to a time during an activity or process when an important decision has to be made or when a situation changes completely. An example of a tipping point for dominican history was the dearh of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo on may 30th ,1961 after 30 years of dictatoship.  One important part of unit 4 is listening 2,which talks about the tipping point of fighthing crime in New York,for a long time this issue concerned citizens but after the police decided to work on improving the subways , thanks to a theory called the Broken Window, crime rates started to drop.

Unit 3.The Bold and the Bashful

Bashful  comes from Early Modern English word bash , that means to lose composure and be dismayed. It is used to describe a person that acts shy or feel uncomfortable around people. This feeling usually comes as a result of a low self - esteem. On the other hand, the word Bold refers to someone confident, that take risks.  Unit 3 presents the general reasons why, people are shy, as well, shows  through a recent research made by Dr.Philip Zimbardo that americans are getting more shy everyday,due to several factors , one of them is the use of technology.   

The tipping point

Well, the professor explained us what tipping point is about, he said that is an important moment in for the  social country   and also in our life. For example: Trujillo's death, Juan Bosh'S coup dêtat . On the other hand teacher told us the meaning of some words like word of mouth is this unit is mean many people talking about that. Self esteem is what you think about you.
